A Womans Experience With Clothing Stains
The dictionary definition of a stain is; a discolor, soil or spot (when it is associated with clothing).
It's amazing how a spot which is less that 1 millimeter square seems to be noticed from a great distance and can cause so much frustration and disappointment.
A special appointment has been made and the lady has decided to prepare herself appropriately and wear her deep olive green dress. It looks great with her high heeled sandals and she feels like a million dollars.
She heads to the underground railway and as the train has not arrived, she sits on the bench provided. A few minutes later the train arrives and on standing up she feels there is a resistance to move from the dress at the lower back area. It takes little time for her to realize that the problem has been caused by chewing gum (that terrible latex material) which has been discarded foolishly. The train journey is spent trying, without success to remove that horrible grey matter from the beautiful dress.
On arrival at the destination's station the lady decides that a coffee and a sandwich are required for arrival at the office which is a short distance from the station. All is well until the person in front of her fails to notice that she is being followed through the office door. The door swings violently and the coffee is knocked over on to the breast of her dress and right down to the hem. Despite a visit to the ladies room, the chewing gum is still clinging and the coffee has provided a major stain down the front of the dress. In addition, the lady smells more like Maxwell House that Chanel No 5!
This grim tale is only one example of how stains can cause disasters, frustration, expense and ruin plans completely. Stains of course are not just restricted to the ladies department. Freddie has seen his favourite footballer fly across the turf on his knees after scoring a goal. Freddie does likewise whilst wearing his white jeans and has inherited some contrasting grass stains.
Graham's car has broken down on the motorway on his way to the annual golfing dinner. He was looking to see if the fan-belt was broken when he managed to get oil on his shirt and suit cuffs.
Stains are sure to happen when you least expect them and the more you know about how to handle each kind of spot-the better chance you have of removing them. Often the affected items are expensive or have great sentimental value and require to be saved if at all possible. Remember the following advice:
• Don't delay
• Test for removal in hidden area
• Remove stains from back
• Don't mix stain removal products
• Be patient
There are many different kind of stains requiring various types of treatment therefore ensure that you are using the appropriate solution for the problem - otherwise the stain may be there forever.
